Prime Minister Hands Over Chairmanship of Pacific Islands Forum
 From the Office of the Prime Minister, Nuku'alofa, 20 August 2008: The Prime Minister, Dr the Hon Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele, handed over the Chairmanship of the Pacific Islands Forum to the Premier of Niue, Hon Toke Talagi in a colourful Opening Ceremony in Alofi, as the 39th Pacific Islands Forum officially got under way.

Forum Chair Pays Tribute to Forum Secretary General Greg Urwin

Feleti Sevele has paid tribute to the late Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat who passed away in Apia, Samoa on Saturday night after being ill for the last eight months.

Three Nominations Received for Secretary General of Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat

Forum Chair Expresses Disappointment over Breakdown of Dialogue between Fiji and Joint Working Group
From the Office of the Prime Minister, Nuku'alofa, June 2008: The Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum and Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon Dr. Feleti Vaka’uta Sevele, has expressed his disappointment over the breakdown of dialogue between Fiji and Suva-based Fiji-Forum Joint Working Group. The Fiji Prime Minister, Commodore Bainimarama, informed him in writing earlier this week of his decision that Fiji would no longer participate in the Meetings of the Fiji-Forum Joint Working Group.
